Primary School – Earth Club

With the help of the Friends of BSB and the Maintenance team, the Upper Primary EARTH CLUB have designed and built a school garden. EARTH CLUB will be responsible for looking after the garden but we hope that everyone at BSB will find it a great place in which to learn and relax.

Secondary School – LEAF

LEAF is a student run group that strives for a more environmentally friendly School campus. LEAF is based on the structure of the MOS (Milieuzorg op School) schools project and is currently split into three groups, Greening Campus, Waste Management and the Communications Group. In future we will develop both a Transport and Water Group

The Greening Campus Group are the creators and managers of the BSB Woodland Reserve, a small piece of woodland on our School campus. Construction of the Reserve took a month, but management of it is ongoing and includes jobs like planting, feeding, construction and the identification of certain plants and animals.

The Waste Management Team studies the culture of waste at BSB by analysing the School's waste and investigating how we can reduce the amount we throw away and/or increase recycling. After a number of surveys results have shown that there is lots of work to be done.

The Communications Group is responsible for broadcasting the activities of LEAF and is in charge of the LEAF notice board, website content and notices that reach students on weekly basis. This Group is a brilliant opportunity for those who would like some journalist or website work experience.
