Science is serious, but learning should be fun

 

At BSB, we provide a safe but stimulating environment for students to learn, experiment, and discover more about the world. Science is taught in a practical, interactive way wherever possible. As a result, we provide an excellent range of fully equipped facilities.

Our labs are spacious, bright, and colourful. They are all state-of-the art and contain everything students need to carry out practical work safely.

We have nine well-equipped labs at BSB, each with internet access and interactive whiteboards. Each of the science specialisms has three purpose built labs with specialised equipment. Six labs are general purpose, while the final three contain specialist equipment suited to each of the three sciences. Our facilities also include three preparation areas, a darkroom, and two specially equipped teaching greenhouses. The department has excellent resources allowing practical work to be completed at all levels. We also have class sets of state-of-the-art dataloggers and sensors and are starting to use iPads as classroom tools.

Students are actively encouraged to use our ICT suites and conduct field work to complement their studies. Our science facilities are superb.
