Secondary School trips
We value the contribution of educational trips and understand the importance of learning outside the classroom. Students are given a wide variety of opportunities for short and extended trips both in Belgium and abroad. Some trips are part of the required curriculum (such as Geography fieldwork) whilst other trips may be optional but highly encouraged, for example language students staying with a host family to practise their skills and immerse themselves in the culture.

All trips provide students with opportunities for learning through discovery, exploration and challenge to complement the learning in the classroom.
Years 7, 8, and 9
During Years 7, 8 and 9 all students have the opportunity to participate in a whole year group trip during “CAS” week, which is usually the penultimate week of the summer term. The main aim of these trips is to offer outdoor activities. Such trips also build a sense of unity within the Year Group and encourage social development. The costs for all the Year Group trips for Years 7 to 9 are included in the School fees.
Years 10 to 13
Older students have the opportunity to participate in a wider variety of curricular trips related to the courses that they choose to follow. Costs for these trips are in addition to school fees, but are highly recommended.

Students participate in short and extended trips across Europe, ranging from a trip to Westminster for politics students to Venice for art students. We offer extended curricular trips including:
- Vienna (German)
- Cadiz (Spanish)
- History (Paris)
- Ardennes, Brussels, Morocco (Geography)
- London (Drama/English)
- New York (Drama)
- The Pyrenees (Biology)
- London (Textiles)
- Venice or Florence (Art and design)
There are other local day/evening trips for Art & Design, Textiles, Design & Technology, Business, Science, Travel & Tourism, Media and Modern Language. Music students visit exhibitions, museums, theatres andcompanies linked to AS/A2/IB courses.
Safety
We have a comprehensive School Trips Policy in line with guidance from the Department of Education in the UK to ensure the highest possible standards of health and safety of students during trips. All trips are planned in accordance with the School Trips Policy and monitored by a senior member of staff.
Full details of trips are sent to parents and information meetings are organised for the larger residential trips.
