Senior Section

Following completion of their GCSE qualifications, students choose a path that's right for them. Two distinct pathways are available. We offer both A Level courses and also give students the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, with both French/English and Dutch/English bilingual options.TEST

BSB offers:

  • A choice of more than 25 AS/A2 Level subjects which provides enormous flexibility for future higher education courses and careers.
  • A choice of more than 25 IB Diploma subjects which also offers enormous flexibility and allows students to maintain breadth as well as depth.
  • A Foundation Course/BTEC for students who choose not to follow A Levels or the IB Diploma.

Creativity, Action, and Service

Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) is an essential part of the IB Diploma with students requiring 150 hours of activity in order to graduate. Students are encouraged to make a positive impact on the community and become more self-aware, as well as becoming engaged and active citizens of the world.

Along with the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge these components make up the IB Diploma.

Thinking matters

Our two year ‘Thinking Matters’ programme aims to engage students in discussion and create greater awareness of contemporary issues relating to the arts, culture, ethics, politics, and science. Students develop communication and presentation skills, as well as practising wider skills involving problem solving and critical thinking. Our programme prepares A Level students to sit the General Studies exam, and forms part of the Theory of Knowledge component of the IB Diploma.
