Student Support & Learning
At the centre of all our activities is the support we give to each student both in learning and in personal growth and development.
Students, staff and parents
We take pride in the warmth of the relationship between all members of our community: students, staff and parents. We foster a sense of mutual respect and it is this that is the foundation of our code of conduct
Staff are always willing to help
We hope that the School’s good relationships encourage an openness between teachers and students and a willingness to ask for and give help
Pastoral support
Of course, learning will be challenging; there will be highs and lows but the staff understand the learning process and are ready to support the students’ efforts. The UK educational tradition involves teaching staff in the pastoral support and welfare of each student. This is a vital part of BSB
Students' on-going development
All students are involved in target-setting with their teachers to encourage self assessment and on-going development

Additional Educational Needs
Where students require additional, more specialised support, we have AEN staff in both Schools who will talk with families and staff to create the necessary support for students who find learning difficult for one reason or another, or who require particular programmes due to their high level of ability
English as an additional language
For those students who require support in their use of English, we provide both intensive short courses for new students and extra support for those students who still need to gain confidence in both the spoken and written word |
Support for students
The School employs an educational psychologist, two counsellors, a speech and language therapist and can call on the services of for example, an occupational therapist (based in school) and physio therapists. We also have good links with other professional children’s services within the Brussels area
