Welcome
Brenda Despontin, Principal
Welcome to our website which I hope you will find useful, informative and entertaining. The British School of Brussels, situated 25 minutes from the city centre on a beautiful campus, offers a British education to International families in the heart of Europe, with students from some 70 nationalities on roll.
BSB is a happy, busy community with excellent facilities and an experienced staff. Students can achieve their potential and thrive in a caring environment where parents are encouraged to play an important part, In fact, we have a flourishing Parents' Association whose activities include the support of families new to the school or to Belgium.
All teaching at BSB is delivered in English, and we adhere to an English curriculum. However, we are fortunate to benefit from our special international character, and from a central location in Europe, and we encourage the acquisition of additional languages from an early age.
In recent years, the International Baccalaureate was introduced at BSB to complement A Level studies for our most senior students. Results in both are excellent, and students leave us to pursue a range of subjects in a variety of courses at universities and colleges world-wide.
This website should answer some questions you have, whether you are visiting its pages as a potential parent, a student, a BSB alumni or just as an interested observer. If you need further information in a language other than English, please contact
and we can in all likelihood find a current parent to help you.
BSB's philosophy is summarised at the top of the website's home page and reads, "Learning Together: Inspiring success." I hope what you read in the pages here will encourage you to visit us and to witness for yourself those words in action.
