Accreditation and Memberships
To ensure that we keep up to date with educational developments both in the UK and internationally, BSB is a member of the following organisations:
CIS - The Council of International Schools
In January 2008, BSB became an accredited member of this organisation following an eighteen month process which culminated in the accreditation visit of November 2007. CIS accreditation is the internationally recognised quality and standards kite mark for international schools. |
ECIS - The European Council of International Schools
This organisation is the professional training organisation linked to CIS. We attended the training conferences which are held annually and which bring together educators from all over the world. |
IBO - The International Baccalaureate Organisation
This is the hub of the IB Diploma which we offer our senior students in addition to the UK's ‘A' Levels. BSB passed the IBO inspection effortlessly and we are now a ‘World School'. |
HMC - The Headmasters and Headmistresses' Conference
This is the organisation which represents over two hundred of the major independent schools in the UK. BSB is an overseas member of this organisation which links us to a significant educational organisation in the UK. |
IAPS - The Independent Association of Preparatory Schools
This organisation links together the major independent junior schools in the UK. |
COBIS - The Council of British International Schools
This is an organisation of which we were a founder member. Schools which offer the UK curriculum around the world are eligible for membership. We have very strong shared interests with these international UK curriculum schools. |
| |
CESSIB - The Council of English Speaking Schools in the Benelux
This is a group of international schools, most of them in Belgium. St Johns School Waterloo and ISB The International School of Brussels are two of the members. At a local Belgian level, we have shared concerns and interests even though our curricula are different.
