BSB hosts prestigious

COBIS Conference

News 21 February 2017

BSB was proud to host the COBIS Conference for PAs and Administrative Staff on 16 and 17 February 2017. The conference was organised under the auspices of the Council for British International Schools (COBIS) and was the second of its kind, conceptualised to provide professional training and networking for PAs and administrative staff working in international schools. The conference drew 48 participants from international schools from 14 different countries and from as far afield as the Middle East.

The conference started on a positive note with an inspirational opening plenary on ‘Happiness at Work’, delivered by Woohoo Inc’s Chief Happiness Officer Alexander Kjerulf. This set the pace for a programme with insightful sessions on assertive communication’, international mindedness, effective working relationships, tech tips and tricks, and event planning to mention a few. The speakers included leading trainer Karen Knowles of Karen Knowles Consulting and Melanie Warnes, Pauline Markey, Daragh Comerford, Stuart Blackmore and Mukami Namu from BSB. The sessions delivered were interactive and information packed, enabling the participants to develop their knowledge and learn new skills.

The conference also allowed the participants to share ideas and build professional and personal relationships during the networking breaks. This was evident by the animated conversations at the special gala dinner held at Restobieres restaurant in central Brussels that certainly gave the delegates a flavour of Belgian cuisine. We would like to thank all who joined us for this event at BSB.
