Our Science Curriculum

BSB offers a British-based curriculum adapted to a diverse international community:

Primary School: Bespoke, enquiry-based curriculum
Years 7–9: Emphasis on scientific thinking and real‑world learning
Years 10–11: (I)GCSE Science with Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons taught by subject specialists
Post‑16: Choice of A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, International Baccalaureate Diploma HL and SL in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and SL Environmental Systems and Societies

The Role

Working closely with teachers and fellow technicians, you will support the delivery of Science for students aged 11–18, with a strong emphasis on practical and investigative work. You will help ensure laboratories are safe, well organised, and fully equipped, contributing to the effective day‑to‑day running of the department.

The role reports to the Department Leader, with overall direction from the Faculty Leader of Science. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to support different areas of the Science curriculum as needed.

We are looking for a collaborative, organised, and safety‑conscious individual who is committed to high standards in science education and to safeguarding young people.

Essential Criteria

Experience working in a laboratory, educational, or technical support environment
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage stock, equipment, and resources
Sound understanding of laboratory safety procedures and safe handling of materials
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with staff
Commitment to student safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding
Willingness to support a range of Science disciplines and adapt to departmental needs

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school or similar setting
Relevant qualification in Science, laboratory technology, or a related field
Experience supporting Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics practical work
Confidence in basic equipment maintenance and minor repairs
Experience supervising students or supporting enrichment activities
