A Curriculum Designed for Academic Success and Personal Growth

We offer a British-based curriculum, adapted to our European context and international student body. At BSB, students are encouraged to grow as individuals, think independently, and make confident decisions.

Academic achievement is important, but so is developing the skills, character and perspective needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our goal is to nurture well-rounded individuals who are prepared to become responsible global citizens.

Post-16 pathways at the British School of Brussels including the IB Diploma, A Levels and BTEC courses.

Academic Pathways

All students follow a British-based curriculum through to age 16, leading to GCSE and International GCSE qualifications.

Post-16, BSB is the one of the only schools in Belgium to offer three internationally recognised pathways: International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, A Levels or BTEC Vocational Courses. Students may also choose to study for a Bilingual IB Diploma in French-English or Dutch-English.

Languages & Bilingual Learning

BSB is one of the few schools in Belgium to offer a truly bilingual education pathway. Our French-English Bilingual Programme begins at age four in Primary School (Year 1) and continues through to age 14 (Year 9) in Secondary School.

Students learn through both French and English, developing confidence, fluency and intercultural understanding in a naturally immersive environment.

Sports

We are home to some of the best indoor school sports facilities in Europe. Students enjoy on-site access to a 25m swimming pool, gymnastics arena, fitness suite, dance studio and multi-purpose sports hall, in addition to extensive outdoor facilities.

Our drama facilities are world class. We have a 240-seat theatre, professional lighting and sound desk, a green room, workshop and costume department all on campus.

We offer a French-English bilingual programme and a mother-tongue Dutch programme for younger students. A range of additional languages are also taught and students have the opportunity to study for Bilingual IB Diplomas.
