Our students achieved an average score of 36 points, alongside an overall pass rate of 98%, up from 95% last year. 60% of students scored above 36 points, and 90% of students scored above 30 points, against a global average that typically sits around 30 points.
23% of our students achieved 40 points or more this year, a significant rise from 7% last year. We are especially proud of three students who achieved 44 out of a possible 45 points.
These results capture something very important about BSB: high ambition, broad opportunity and excellent outcomes can go hand in hand. The headline achievements are exceptional, but so too is the breadth of success across this cohort. They reflect a learning culture, sustained by my colleagues across the school, in which students are known, challenged and supported to fulfil their potential.

We set our students up for success and, following detailed advice and guidance on the best course selection, welcome students from a wide range of abilities onto our IB Diploma pathway. We support students who want to stretch themselves, and we are delighted that their hard work and commitment – with the support of the community around them – has meant that students have been able to achieve at all levels.
A wide variety of students have earned their full IB Diploma this year, a qualification that opens doors for university, work, and life beyond school, and represents a significant achievement.
These results are the product of hard work from our students, dedicated teaching from our staff, and steady support from families throughout the two-year programme. Every point on this year’s results represents a story of effort, growth, and perseverance.

This year’s results represent first and foremost a fantastic achievement for our students and stand as testament to their hard work and dedication. These results also represent the care and dedication of staff as our learning community continues to go from strength to strength. With students achieving so brilliantly at all levels, and with nearly a quarter of our students achieving 40+ points, we couldn’t be more proud.
IB Coordinator James Rollinson echoed this pride, with a particular focus on what these results mean for students as they move forward:
These fantastic results will enable our 2026 IB Diploma programme cohort to embark on next chapters as diverse as they are, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of them. Beyond the impressive numbers on their certificates, our students also leave with crucial life and professional skills that are as much the product of the IB Diploma pathway and a BSB education as their academic results. I am grateful to all my colleagues for the part they have played in supporting students to achieve these outstanding outcomes, particularly Rachel Sheard for her pastoral support and leadership as Head of Year 13.
