Learning should be full of joy and wonder

Primary education at BSB runs from age 3 to 11, and we are committed to supporting children through this remarkable period of growth. The unique child is at the heart of everything we do. We inspire, empower and give every child a voice — helping them learn and discover who they are.

Units of Discovery

Our unique Units of Discovery weave together History, Geography, Science, DT, Art and PSHE. As well as learning facts, children ask big questions, explore ethical issues and emerge as empowered, active citizens.

World-Class Facilities

Primary pupils enjoy their own dedicated playgrounds, gym and two libraries, alongside whole-school facilities including our 25m indoor swimming pool, theatre and sports centre — among the finest in Europe.

A Community That Truly Cares

BSB has the warm, nurturing atmosphere of a small school — with all the resources of a large one. Our pastoral care runs deep. Every child is known by name, valued for who they are, and supported to flourish.

h

An Authentic International Community

Your child will learn and play alongside peers from over 65 nationalities — building friendships and a global outlook from day one. Diversity is the very fabric of our school life.

A Bespoke, Skills-Based Curriculum

Our Primary curriculum is thoughtfully adapted from the UK National Curriculum to meet the needs of our wonderfully diverse student body. It’s inquiry-driven, skills-focused and designed to spark genuine curiosity.

Specialists in Every Subject

Every child is taught by specialist teachers in French, Dutch, PE, Music and Outdoor Learning. That means real expertise, real passion, and children who discover subjects they love.

The Bilingual Programme

From Key Stage 1 onwards, selected classes are taught bilingually in French and English by two dedicated native-speaking teachers. It’s a genuine 50/50 immersion with the curriculum being taught in a mixture of both languages.

The bilingual programme runs all the way through to the end of KS3, giving your child a priceless head start in language, culture and confident communication. Selection is based on aptitude and enthusiasm — and the results speak for themselves.

Principles that put your child first

Our Teaching and Learning Principles shape every lesson, every conversation and every moment your child spends with us. We know that a truly great education leads to being a force for good in the world.

From Key Stage 1 through to Upper Primary, we balance joyful, play-based exploration with the academic rigour that prepares children confidently for secondary school and beyond.

Exceptional facilities on a beautiful green campus

Nestled just outside Brussels in Tervuren, our campus gives Primary children the space to learn, grow, play and explore.

All primary children benefit from regular swimming sessions in our 25m swimming pool, have weekly lessons in one of our two primary school libraries, perform in our 240-seat Brel Theatre, and explore outdoor learning in our dedicated forest classroom and wild garden.

I am so impressed by how BSB gives students a real voice. Seeing my daughter grow during her time here has made me even more grateful for the way the school empowers students to think big and believe in themselves.
