BSB amongst best IB schools

BSB ranked as best IB school in Belgium and the top international school in Western Europe

Following its recent inclusion in the top 100 schools in the world list and its ranking in the top 10 in Europe by The Spear’s Schools Index 2021, The British School of Brussels (BSB) has received yet another accolade.

BSB has recently had the honour of being named the best IB (International Baccalaureate) school in Belgium and with over 4,000 schools offering the IB Diploma each year this places BSB in the top 1% of all IB schools worldwide.

The independent ranking was compiled by Education Advisers, an education consultancy providing specialist information about International Baccalaureate schools, and aims to provide clear and independent information, advice and services to parents and students seeking a private education.

Independently ranked as a leading IB school

The position has been determined though league tables of private schools by ranking them by their up-to-date exam grades. IB schools are ranked by the average number of IB Diploma Programme points achieved. With a 40-point IB average, BSB is placed as one of the very best schools worldwide.

Melanie Warnes, Principal at BSB said:

“Our students continue to excel on this challenging programme, enabling them to go on and receive offers from prestigious universities across the world. It is especially wonderful to have this recognition, as our students are not selected by academic ability. I couldn’t be prouder of how our students have handled the challenges this year and how our incredible teachers and parents have supported them to achieve – and surpass – all expectations.”

BSB continues to go from strength to strength, with graduating students accepting places at some of the world’s leading universities. BSB actively recruits the highest quality, inspirational teachers who are the best in their field. In addition, students are supported by a raft of superb support and pastoral staff.  The phenomenal 40-point average IB Diploma score the BSB cohort achieved last year reflects this.

John Knight, Vice-Principal & Head of Secondary School at BSB said:

“This independent ranking is worthy recognition of the outstanding work ethic and positivity demonstrated by our students and staff. We’re committed to ensuring that each and every student has the support they need to achieve their absolute best.”
