Role Summary

The After-School Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and engaging environment for primary-aged children during the after-school period. Working daily from 15:45 to 18:00, the supervisor leads age-appropriate activities, supports children’s wellbeing and social development, and ensures smooth, safe end-of-day transitions. The role requires warmth, patience, organisational skills, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, along with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

The successful applicant will:

  • Supervise and care for primary-aged pupils during the after-school period.
  • Provide a safe, positive and engaging environment for all children.
  • Lead age-appropriate activities that support play, wellbeing, and social development.
  • Ensure children are safely handed over to parents/carers at the end of the session.
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents where needed.

Profile and Experience 

  • Enjoy working with young children and demonstrate patience, warmth, and reliability.
  • Have experience supervising or supporting children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Be organised, attentive, and confident managing small groups.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils.
