For September 2026

The British School of Brussels (BSB) is a leading not-for-profit, inclusive international school with 1,350 students from around 70 countries. Set on a stunning green campus in Tervuren – close to both vibrant Leuven and cosmopolitan Brussels – we combine world-class facilities with a warm, welcoming community.
What truly sets BSB apart is not just what we do, but how we do it. Strong relationships, a shared sense of belonging, and a relentless commitment to quality underpin every aspect of school life. Our students are inspired to aim high, broaden their horizons, and thrive-academically, personally, and socially.

From our bespoke enquiry-based Primary curriculum to our outstanding range of pathways at Post-16 (A Levels, IB Diploma, and BTEC), and an enrichment programme offering hundreds of activities each week, BSB provides exceptional opportunities for every child. Our graduates go on to top universities worldwide, and these results are the natural outcome of a culture built on care, curiosity, and collaboration.

We are now seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers who can bring a real enthusiasm to the school. We are not just looking for talented teachers; we are seeking to appoint teachers who can make a wide contribution to the life of the school.

Our students

With an excellent record of academic achievement, BSB students go on to attend a wide range of top universities across the globe. In Languages our students achieve a high level of success in terms of examination results, but more importantly they enjoy language learning and develop cultural understanding and the skills to communicate confidently wherever they end up studying or working.

Languages taught

Languages currently taught in the Secondary school at BSB are French, German, Spanish and Dutch. The two main national languages of French and Dutch are offered at both First and Second Language level. French is taught throughout the school as the first additional Language and is currently compulsory for students up to the end of Year 11. The second additional language is compulsory from Year 7 to Year 9, becoming optional in Years 10 – 11. However more than two-thirds of each cohort choose to continue both languages to certification at the end of Year 11. Qualifications offered are IGCSE for German, Spanish and French Second Language; DELF B2 for French First Language; and CNaVT B1 or B2 for Dutch.

All four languages are taught at post-16 level, either at GCE A level or as part of the IB Diploma.
