Leading the way: AI and innovation at the COBIS Conference 2025

BSB and COBIS to bring together leading experts and innovators to explore the latest trends, challenges, and best practices

The British School of Brussels (BSB) is proud to host the COBIS Conference for Marketing, Development and Admissions Staff 2025, a forward-thinking event that brings together experts from across the education sector to discuss trends and best practice for Marketing and Admissions teams in a rapidly evolving world. Taking place on 18-19 February 2025, the conference offers a chance to explore how schools like BSB are responding to challenges and embracing new opportunities to position themselves for success in an increasingly competitive international market.

Schools in a world of advancing technology

As AI and other technology continues to advance at breakneck speed, schools all over the world are considering how this impacts everything, from how to prepare students to successfully navigate their careers and the wider world, to questions of how far to incorporate available technological tools in every area of school life. BSB is no exception, and throughout the school, teachers and leaders are working together to bring the best of technology together to enhance the learning of our students. The COBIS Conference for Marketing, Development and Admissions staff invites professionals from schools worldwide, along with experts from different domains, to share and reflect on best practices the areas of admissions, marketing, and communication. A range of talks will be on offer, with some explicitly technology-based, and others taking a broader look on how to deliver superb service in the context of a rapidly changing world.

Attendees will explore key themes, including:

  • AI’s role in education and marketing: Sessions like AI and the Future of Education by Andrew Caffrey of Canopy Education and Digital Marketing Trends for 2025 by Kerwyn Salmons of 15th Media will examine how emerging technologies are transforming the way schools operate.
  • Strengthening school-family connections: Marketing Through the Admissions Journey with Alex Vallance and Megan Jones and Charting the Course – Ensuring a Smooth Journey for Families with Liz Allen and Debbie Eisenach will help schools think through the entire process that families experience when considering a school for their children
  • Strategic growth: From improving admissions processes to exploring innovative uses of technology, the conference is designed to help Marketing, Admissions and Development teams to provide excellent service to their schools.

A thought-provoking keynote: Marketing in the world of AI

Keynote speaker Andy Serdons, Google’s Country Marketing Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg, will deliver a keynote speech on the state of the field when it comes to AI and marketing. With his experience within the search engine giant and particular expertise in AI, Andy is ideally placed to open up eyes to the possibilities that lie ahead. His talk will set the scene for the varied two days of talks and workshops looking at how to make the best use of these opportunities. A panel discussion on the second day will allow delegates to hear speakers from different domains discuss their take on inhabiting the brave new world of AI.
