LEARNING

Upper Primary

Age 7 - 11

Welcome to Upper Primary

In Upper Primary we build on the good practice established in Lower Primary while also recognising the increasing demands that secondary education will place on our children. These are bridging years as we adjust our teaching and learning as the children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially. Nevertheless, we hold onto the principle that play, joy and wonder are essential entitlements for children as is their right to be curious and creative and as such, we maintain opportunities for play, for trips and visitors and enhanced provision of learning.

We provide a curriculum that is relevant, engaging and suitably challenging for all. Our dedicated and expert team are committed to knowing your child well and developing learning tasks that are well suited to their personal needs and development.

Areas of learning

In Upper Primary, our learners continue to build upon the strong foundation laid in Lower Primary. At this crucial stage of their education, we are committed to providing an enriching and supportive learning environment that fosters academic success, personal growth, and a lifelong love for learning.

As in Lower Primary, in Upper Primary, our learners benefit from a team of dedicated classroom and specialist teachers who are experts in their fields. These educators are not only passionate about their subjects but also deeply invested in the holistic development of each student. Through their guidance, support, and innovative teaching methods, they inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset in our learners.

Our curriculum is designed to offer exciting opportunities for learning and engagement. From immersive productions to enriching trips, we provide a diverse range of experiences that extend beyond the confines of the classroom. These experiences are carefully curated to spark creativity, encourage exploration, and deepen understanding across various subjects and disciplines.

We firmly believe in the power of collaboration supporting the transition from Primary to Secondary. As such, we actively collaborate with our colleagues in Secondary School to enrich our students’ learning experiences. By aligning our curriculum, sharing best practices, and fostering meaningful partnerships, we ensure a seamless transition for our learners as they progress to the next stage of their academic journey. Together, we strive to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resilience to thrive in an ever-changing world.
